Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA

David and I are huge Cirque Du Soleil fans and have seen almost every show in the past four years. When living in Dallas, we got to see their traveling shows: Varekai and La Nouba, which are outstanding!

As a surprise for Valentine's Day, David bought us center floor seats for Kooza down in San Jose, which was this weekend. My mom was in town visiting and was all to happy to babysit so we could scoot on down to San Jose and have dinner before the show, which started at 8:00PM. We go out at least one night while my mom is in town but it's a real treat to be gone from 4:00PM on until late in the night. :) We ate at our favorite chain restaurant, P.F. Chang's before she show and the location could not have been more perfect as the show was less than a mile walk from the restaurant.

The show was spectacular and just as we remembered the Cirque experience. This show was in English (most are in French) and hysterical! The clowns and the King did so many really funny skits and The Innocent was just adorable! The dancing was phenomenal, the music was inspiring and the acrobatics were mind-blowing!

We normally go as Tapis Rouge VIP members, which enables us to enter a secluded tent early for first dibs over their merchandise, a free program and a buffet of tapas & champagne. It's worth the money but we didn't have the time to go to San Jose so early in the afternoon and, honestly, it just wasn't the same. We'll definitely go VIP when we go to Vegas this year. We are going to try and see Ka and Zumanity.
