Play-Doh Recipe

My friends and I made this last week for our kids and I swear, it was exactly like Play-Doh only no worries if they decide to taste some, which they almost all did! :)

1 cup white flour
1 cup water
2 tsp cream of tartar (on the spice isle)
1 tsp canola oil
1/4 cup salt
food coloring (next to all the cake decorating stuff)

Mix all ingredients, except color, in a saucepan. Whisking works well to get it smooth. Then add the color, and whisk (when it's done it will be a bit darker).

Heat over medium heat, stirring all the while, scraping the bottom. Cook as you would overdone scrambled eggs; cook
until it is in big lumps, not very wet at all but all stuck together in a ball.

Remove from heat, and scrape it all out onto a cookie
sheet. With rubber gloves (since it's hot) knead to a smooth texture. If it feels too sticky, leave it out for a bit, then knead again. Repeat until it feels right.

After it cools, store in a plastic bag.
