23 weeks

Attending a baby shower yesterday of a very good friend really sort of made my own pregnancy very real.  It's strange to say but I've just sort of been going about my life, busy with lots of other things, and it's easy to forget (or just let it slip to the back of my mind) that I'm pregnant!  Unlike with Emily where I wasn't working and had all the time in the world just focus on her.

While I'm on the subject of comparing this pregnancy to when I was pregnant with Emily, I'm carrying really high, straight out from my belly button with this baby.  With Emily, I carried really low.  No wonder everyone kept telling me they were sure this baby was a boy.

He is moving consistently during the day and is fairly motionless at night, I am going to relish every moment and enjoy that he sleeps when I sleep now as I know those sleepless newborn days are only a few months ahead of us!  At this point his face is fully formed and he's starting to pack on the pounds, meaning I may, too!  I don't have the linea nigra (yet) nor any swelling, varicose veins, or stretch marks.  I actually didn't have any of these things with Emily so we'll see if I get them this time.

To answer so many of you, no, we haven't chosen a name just yet.  David and I haven't really had a chance to sit down and discuss it as work is keeping him busy 15+ hours a day (including weekends) and I'm pretty swamped with all the Preschool functions here lately.  We did spend about an hour last weekend going through the Top 100 names over the last 50 decades and made a list of all the names we didn't hate.  The list is LONG.  ha!  I'm going to try and squeeze in a date night here soon so we can get that list narrowed down.  Stay tuned!

My 6th month Ob/Gyn appointment is next Friday, February 18th.
