24 weeks

24 weeks and still feeling really great, gotta love the second trimester energy boost! And I really need it the next month as I wind up my working & volunteer duties at Emily's Preschool. I plan to take the school's Maternity Leave March 15th - June 15th, meaning I no longer have to work in the classroom each week and just have to pay a minimal increase in tuition.

The only think slowing me down these days is the Braxton-Hick's contractions I have daily, which I've noticed are worse when I'm sitting for extended periods of time (like when riding the bike at the gym for 45 minutes) and when I'm working really hard (like the 4 hours I work at Emily's preschool on Wednesdays).  Taking a break to sit down and elevate my feet every 20 minutes helps and so does walking so, I'm no longer riding the bike at the gym, rather using the elliptical or the treadmill.

Baby boy is about the size of a papaya this week and his skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

I'm about to "pop" (I popped at 25 weeks with Emily!) it seems, with all my clothes (and underwear!) becoming tighter. Thankfully Old Navy Maternity had a huge 30% off sale plus an additional 15% off your entire purchase so, I have new digs coming this week. I can't wait for some warmer weather so I can break out my super comfy yoga capris and flip flops!!

My 6th month Ob/Gym appointment is on Friday and it's extra special because Emily doesn't have school (President's Day 4-day weekend) and my mom will be in town.
