26 weeks

At 26 weeks 2 days, starting my 27th week, I have entered into the third trimester.  As of Saturday the 5th, I'll be in my 7th month.  Just typing that baffles me!

I have been feeling the strain of my basketball-size uterus lately: my center of gravity is off, just walking down stairs is tricky; I get winded and tired doing every day things; and my legs and feet ache and are a bit swollen after being on my feet for long periods of time.  My belly is feeling heavy and often pushes my no-panel pants down so, I'm a big fan of full-panel jeans and pants these days!  Although feeling big and a bit uncomfortable, my energy is still high and Emily & I are having a lot more fun with the sunshine and warmer weather beginning to return.  Speaking of Emily, her favorite thing about this pregnancy currently is helping me rub cocoa butter lotion all over my stomach and she always ends with hugging my belly, kissing my belly, and telling me she loves my baby.  LOVE!

As I mentioned last week, I have decided to go on Maternity Leave from Emily's Preschool.  While fun, the fast-pace and constant physical labor aspects of my workdays are proving to be too much and are causing me undo stress and hypertension (high blood pressure).  Thankfully, there were plenty of parents more than willing to take my remaining shifts through the end of the school year.

Baby is moving all the time but nothing is painful or uncomfortable at this point.  He can get up near my ribs, making breathing a bit difficult, but it's rare at this point as he likes to lay low, literally.  He's approximately 2lbs and 15", which is nearly double his stats from just a month ago!  He may be able to hear our voices now, though muffled and it is possible to hear his heart beat by pressing an ear to my belly.  David has yet to hear anything but Emily swears she can hear a "thump, thump, thump... like, really fast!".  :)

No name as of yet but we did start a preliminary list and there are some front-runners!
