Five months postpartum

Walking 3+ miles every morning helped me to lose another 7lbs this last month... as well as continueing to breastfeed Nolan.  :)

I have lost 34lbs total to date and am only 8lbs from my goal!

I know I keep saying I'm going to get to the gym but I can't seem to make that happen. With all the napping and trying to get Nolan on a schedule ontop of the drop-offs/pick-ups from Kindergarten, play dates, swimming, cheerleading, and our normal errands and housework, I just have zero time to myself. The moment Nolan goes down for the night I am in bed, even if it's 7:30pm as I'm just too tired to do much of anything else. Gotta take sleep where I can get it!

I have continued to eat healthy, 5-6 small meals every day, and stay away from processed junk though I do indulge here and there in some pizza. I rarely drink alcohol and keep my focus on portions, whole grains, lean proteins, and LOTS of fresh vegetables and fruit.

My mom was here this week and helped me with Nolan while Emily was in school so I could do some shopping to get some new, smaller clothes. It was so exciting to try on pants 3 and 4 sizes smaller than I've been able to wear in the last five years and to actually have them fit well. I scored three pairs of jeans, six shirts, a jacket, and all new undergarments.

  1. You're doing great even without the exercise! I found it impossible to get any exercise, other than some walks with the stroller, last time around. You're just so busy and so tired.

  2. Wow congrats Amanda! Kudos to you for taking such good care of yourself. And for the record, I totally agree that sleep is super important! I am just not myself when I don't sleep enough.
