Christmas 2013 - Here in California with Gram and Aunt Jenny #holidays #christmas #parenting #kids

We are so blessed that our Gram and Aunt Jenny agreed to fly out here to California to celebrate Christmas with us once again.

This makes three years in a row and we are so thankful!

It's so much easier on us because the kids have their own beds, toys, a backyard, and their routine throughout the five day celebration. It's also less expensive on us to just add two more mouths to all our meals!

In preparation for their visit, I stocked up on wrapping paper, ribbon, and tape as they always ship their gifts to us weeks in advance and wrap everything when they get here. We also have the tree and all our decorations up ready to enjoy.

This Christmas was all about spending time together as a family.

We played with all our toys,

 Built our annual gingerbread house,

Got bundled up to walk down Thompson Lane and see all the lights our little city has to offer,

Spoke to Santa about our last-minute Christmas wishes,

Baked, cooked, and ate and drank too much,

And spent Christmas Eve opening all our gifts to and from each other.

On their wish lists this year were Hex Bugs, Orbeez foot spa, a bean bag chair, Loom bands, Flipeez, a scooter, VTech smart wheels, a LeapPadUltra, a ball popper, National Geographic books, a new robe, and Imaginext dinosaurs.

Christmas day, the kids woke us up with mad excitement as Santa had slipped down our chimney and left some amazing goodies (a Furby Boom and a motorcycle!).

Once dressed, it was all about playing with their new toys- the kids were over the moon!

And then, it was time to say good-bye as Gram and Aunt Jenny had a plane to catch that afternoon.

A very merry Christmas, indeed.

Cheers, to next year!
