Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Can you believe it's that time of year again for red & pink balloons, roses and those little candy hearts? :) David and I had just started dated in February and he actually took me out for an amazing Valentine's Day celebration that year, in 2004; we went to the Intercontinental Hotel for a 5-course meal, dancing, wine and an overnight stay in one of their suites. It was really romantic, complete with roses and a huge stuffed animal in our room. Valentine's Day 2005, we had just gotten engaged back in December and David planned a super romantic weekend in Austin, TX at The Driskill Hotel downtown. We had rode in a horse & carriage, had dinner & wine at P.F. Chang's China Bistro and David gave me the Elsa Peretti Tiffany heart necklace. I gave him the very first IPod put out by Apple. Valentine's Day 2006, we had just found out we were pregnant (in January) and the celebration took on a whole new meaning, as there was no drinking involved. :) David had a huge bouquet of roses sent to my office in downtown Dallas, TX and brought home more flowers that night. He's so romantic! Valentine's Day 2007, Emily was just learning to sit up on her own at 5 months old and I took this picture of her that day:

Valentine's Day this year is going to be a bit more low-key as Emily is now 17 months old and has to be in bed by 7:30PM. Plus, dinner out isn't as enticing when you are paying a babysitter $15/hour and feel rushed. We decided instead to celebrate at the end of the month with a trip into The City and tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil's new show, Kooza. My mom will be here to babysit for Emily and it might end up an overnight trip, staying in a luxury hotel downtown... we are just playing it by ear at the moment but are very excited and just can't wait. It will be our first overnight away from Emily!

P.S. David drove home from work to hand-deliver me a huge bouquet of roses. Is he not the most romantic and thoughtful?
