25 in 2009 - Books 6 & 7

25 in 2009:

1) Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall

2) The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

3) Water for Elephants

4) Multiple Blessings by Jon & Kate Gossilin

5) The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

6) Sleeping Arrangments by Madeleine Wickham
Traditional, extremely satisfying, chick-lit at it's BEST! This book leaves you wondering; "Did he?", "Would she?" after every chapter and I honestly flew through it in about two days because I felt this need to know if the affair alluded to in this book ever actually happened. Madeleine is also Sophie Kinsella who wrote the Shopoholic Series so, if you liked those books, you will LOVE this one!

7) Mommy Tracked by Whitney Gaskell
Another chick-lit book all about the joys and struggles of being a mom and balancing a career, a marriage and your own identity as you raise your kids. Told from the point of view of 4 very different women with different "careers", this book is easy to follow as each chapter jumps between the 4 women and I couldn't wait for the next chapter for a follow up on each of the characters. This book, while fairly light-hearted, does touch on some sensitive subjects including body image and dieting, PPD and affairs of the heart, which gives it substance and made it feel more like a real-life account of a mom I might know. LOVED IT!
