City of Lakeway, TX Festival of Lights!
Every year while here in Austin, TX over the Christmas holiday, we make the trek down to Zilker Park to walk the Trail of Lights; however, after hearing how much they've scaled it down, the lack of parking and how FAR you have to walk or take a bus to get from your car to the Trail, we decided to skip it this year.
Bummer.
Thankfully and much to our surprise, my mom had discovered The City of Lakeway's Festival of Lights last year and found all the information before we arrived this year. So, last night we drove the short 4 miles over to Lakeway's Activity Center and walked their trail of lights and just could not believe how fantastic it was! Very well-lit, level, gravel path, lots of parking right at the entrance of the trail, tons of adorable displays (including my personal favorite: a texas with "Merry Christmas, Y'all" written inside it!) and huge Christmas trees whose lights changed along to music!
It's free and perfect for kids as it's a very SHORT walk around!
