First night in his crib!

At just over 14lbs, Nolan was beginning to creep too close to the 15lb weight limit of the bassinet part of his Pack 'n Play so, David and I ordered a DaVinci Mini Crib, which arrived yesterday!

Why a mini crib and not a full size?

Because Nolan will be sharing our bedroom until we move next year and there just isn't room for such a large piece of furniture. We also didn't want to spend that kind of money on a crib that may or may not be what we want, style-wise for his nursery once we do move.

The crib itself is the same dimensions of a Pack 'n Play; however, it's made identically to a quality, full size crib, has four mattress heights, and can hold up to 50lbs. It will also convert to a twin size bed (using the headboard of the crib as the headboard for the twin size bed) should we ever want to use it that way. We purchased a much nicer mattress than what came with it, as well as a breathable bumper and super soft sheets.

Nolan slept in it for the first time last night and slept all night.

It was so nice not to hear the "swishing" sound of the Pack 'n Play bassinet every time Nolan moved. It was also really nice not to have to bend down so far to lay him in his Pack 'n Play as the crib is much taller.
